The Whitley County Farmers’ Market (“the Market”, “we”, “us”) runs a producer market at two locations in Whitley County, Kentucky. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
Vendor sales reporting. Vendors who report daily sales through our reporting form submit sales figures only. Those submissions are anonymous — the form does not ask who is filling it in.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit.
What we do not collect. We take no payments through this website. We do not collect or store card numbers, bank details, or benefit-program card numbers. Purchases at the Market are made directly with individual vendors.
2. How we use information
- To send the newsletter you asked for — market days, seasonal produce, vendor news and events.
- To answer questions you send us.
- To understand how this website is used, so we can improve it.
- To report anonymous, aggregated sales totals to the funders, grant programs and partner organizations that support the Market.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used. These set cookies and collect the usage information described above. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works perfectly well without them.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers who help us run this website and our mailing list — our website host, our email delivery provider, and Google Analytics. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of people at the Market.
5. Your choices
Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. You can also email us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
6. Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can access it. No website can promise perfect security, so please do not send sensitive personal details by email.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
